(62,325 posts)criminals elected. No Dem has even tried to talk to them before, afaik. Every vote counts. Whether we like it or not, there are literally millions of people who claim to be Christians in this country.
What Bernie did at LU was unprecedented. He reminded them of what their Leader actually was all about. Whether anyone believes in Jesus or not, isn't so much the issue. The issue is that Fundamentalists who CLAIM to believe in him, have been bamboozled for decades by the Right into voting AGAINST the very principles Jesus preached about.
Bernie succeeded in causing some of them to think about that. Jesus was all about the poor, his only angry moments came when the threw the 'money lenders' out of the temple. Yet, many of these people vote FOR the 'money lender'.
The Pastoral adviser who has stated that he intends to vote for Bernie and has a right to do so, is remarkable. What it demonstrates is that Sanders, who is not a Christian, in fact he epitomizes everything they have been taught to despise, was actually able to reach some of them and cause them to rethink who they have been supporting for all these years.
