for me it's understood that on the whole, any presidential candidate who runs to win has a certain level of arrogance, a certain type of narcissistic personality, a certain self centered-ness and self aggrandizement to want to run for the job in the first place.

but once in a while someone who doesn't entirely embody those typical characteristics comes along. in my lifetime jimmy carter, dennis kucinich, bernie sanders...hmm. the list is short. had paul wellstone lived would he have run for president?

i have to hang my hopes on bernie sanders. a clinton, webb or chafee is unacceptable when there's a sanders. i have standards.
