This is exactly what they planned to do. Carter was the only deviation on that path and look what they did to him.

The plan was to distract us enough that we did not notice the shift. That strategy appears to have worked on most Americans. Riddle me this: Why are there no corporate bankers in jail? (answer: Professional Courtesy). Why were no questions asked about the no-bid arms and services contracts let during Iraq and Afghan wars? (same answer).

Have you noticed what happens to anyone who asks the big "why"? Typically they are accused of not being loyal enough...to the party (either one), to America, to "Christianity", to The NRA, to Free Enterprise, and so on. Often the response is that you must be out of your mind, or how dare you question (which ever sacred cow)!
