13. I suspect some of the people who are supporting Trump right now

are so-called "low information voters" who like Trump mainly because (a) he's famous and (b) he's not part of the political "establishment." Sanders will never pick up the racists and white supremacists and teabaggers, because his policies are the exact opposite of what they believe. However, he might be able to draw some of the people who like Trump now because they feel injured by the "establishment" and they've heard of Trump but not Sanders (yet). They might be educable. It makes sense to try to attract people whom you think you can convert to you your way of thinking. Many Trump supporters might be hopeless but maybe some are salvageable.
