(19,926 posts)They don't stand on principle or ethics, it's either all about personalities - which I don't think I believe that much any more since some Hillary HATERS now LOVE her - or they really are moderate Republicans.
I'm certain now that they are moderate Republicans, just like Obama. That's what he described himself as and his policies shows that to be true.
The also are doing identity politics rather than voting for policies that are in their best interest. You have a black poster telling us we should not ever criticize Obama if we want the black vote even though Hillary was worse to BLM and made a worse impression with BLM activists than Bernie, which seems that would be really insulting to PoC to me. You have women supporting Hillary even though she's a corporate hawk and no liberal. They have just thrown policy positions out the window in order to satisfy some other need of theirs, a need that has nothing to do with what is best overall for this country and its constitution. If we were supporting a more right wing candidate because he were a man that would be completely wrong. Hillary is also a nasty, offensive campaigner whose playing of the gender card is bad for feminism, but hey, whatever I guess.
But they are definitely NOT supporting Democratic Party principles and ideals by supporting a moderate Republican for the Democratic ticket. Bernie is more representative of the Democratic Party principles and ideals than Hillary could ever hope to pretend to be.
