No matter how much I like a particular candidate, there is always a chance my favorite candidate will not prevail, particularly in crowded primary races. I accept that possibility, since such things happen to every candidate who doesn't end up winning.
But, we're lucky. We're Democrats. The Democratic candidate who wins a place on the general election ballot will always be a better choice than any Republican, and will always be a better choice than a third-party candidate who cannot possibly win.
So, I support the candidate I like the best, or the candidate I think has the best chance to win in the primaries. But, I leave open the possibility that someone else will win. I vote exclusively for Democrats on general election ballots, whether I voted for that person in the primary election or not.
That's the only sane thing to do.
