In reply to the discussion: Do you think busing will be the primary issue of the 2020 general election? [View all]bucolic_frolic
(53,214 posts)6. Trump plays busing and lean government as as part of tax cuts for the middle class
He will tell us how efficient his government is. He hired few people, but only the best were hired. He kept immigrant out and starved them at low cost. He sold off the environment and collected tariffs. He will end busing and schooling will be cheaper as a result. He will promise to deliver tax cuts from all his cost savings.
Clearly, to me at least, that is where he is headed. And I doubt Democrats are forewarned enough to know what is happening.
I'm for any strong Democrat who can bludgeon Trump's lies day after day. We don't win this on policy and feel-good issues.
We win this on stamina and in-yer-face jabs, make Trump face the garbage he has created.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

They'll be busy defending Trump from the gut punches Harris would be landing on him.

+1. It's definitely a big deal when studies show minority kids do better in integrated schools.

I voted "no" because once they see which way the wind is blowing they will reverse course. Who, me?

No, we have more important things to campaign on such as health care, climate change etc.

Busing is irrelevant. Harris just exploited the issue to prove her mettle.
