7. I think he is better off as governor of Washington

Although he couldn't get it passed earlier, he could lead in getting a good state program passed including creative programs that could be trialed in Washington.

I would hope that a scientist - like Dr Moniz, who was very helpful to Kerry on various climate negotiations as well as the Iran deal. He also ran the Energy department, making him someone with the scientific credentials to speak to other scientists to search for potential game changers. The President also might want a special envoy to negotiate plans forward internationally. No one would be better at this than John Kerry. There was an article that spoke of Kerry, Moniz, and Gina McCarthy, Obama's second EPA head talking about an initiative they hope to announce in September on climate change.

Every Democrat running is serious on climate change - all of them wanting to rejoin Paris and then try to work to exceed, rather than failing as we are now, the goals given. This needs to be a long term effort.
