Instead of confiscation, maybe the easiest option is to simply make it illegal to own these weapons. Make it illegal to advertise, trade or sell these weapons on-line, at retail stores, gun clubs or gun auctions, and estate and garage sales (anywhere). Then you could give collectors a chance to dispose of them properly at a designated repository. These guns can then be melted down and turned into something useful for society or the people who live with the scars of gun violence.
