(22,912 posts)The top three polling in the race so far are mid to late 70's males. And in that age group a previously unknown heart issue could emerge for any of them at any time. Fortunately in many cases, with today's medical advances, treatments can be effective at greatly prolonging life. But all of these men, IMO, can be called "at risk". Bill Clinton had serious heart issues, after he left office, that emerged while he was campaigning for John Kerry:
"He was transferred to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, where he underwent a successful on-pump quadruple coronary artery bypass surgery on September 6, 2004. The medical team stated, had he not had surgery, he would have likely suffered a massive heart attack within a few months".
That's 16 years and counting. I will note with no great pleasure that Dick Cheney is also still with us today.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
