16. Yeah, Democrats need to focus on GOP voter suppression schemes, not this stuff

Florida voters approved a constitutional initiative last November restoring voting rights to 1.4 million ex-felons, 64.55% to 35.45%. It would have restored the vote to ex-felons upon completion of their sentences, including prison, parole, and probation, except those convicted of murder or a felony sexual offense. Then Florida House Republicans passed a bill requiring ex-felons pay old court costs before having their voting rights restored.

Even though the initiative passed by a margin of 30 points, Republicans are doing everything they can to prevent ex-felons from voting. What realistic chance does a law allowing prisoners to vote while serving sentences have of passage? Yet certain people toss this stuff out there so liberals will take the bait, waste time arguing about it and look like fools.

primary today, I would vote for:
