The police said a U.S marine working as a guard at the embassy was apparently intoxicated when he crashed into a taxi killing a Romanian musician and injuring the driver. snip
Two years ago, European Union hopeful Romania angered Brussels when it became the first country in the world to sign a treaty exempting Americans from the justice of the International Criminal Court, a global war crimes court.
Romania, a new NATO member, has been a staunch supporter of the United States and has contributed troops to U.S.-led missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
