JDV to surrender Satur
Scores more face arrest

The House leadership has agreed to turn over to the Philippine National Police four leftist congressmen charged with rebellion by the Arroyo administration.

House Speaker Jose de Venecia told this to the media after he met with PNP Chief Arturo Lomibao, who went to the Batasan Complex Monday afternoon to discuss with de Venecia how to effect the arrest of Reps. Satur Ocampo, Teddy Casiño of Bayan Muna and Rep. Liza Maza of the Gabriela Women’s Party and Rafael Mariano of Anakpawis.

De Venecia said the House could not take custody of the four militant lawmakers the whole day but “aonly for a few hours, maximum of one day.”

“They will be arrested and brought to the custody of the AFP. I will not be able to do my work if will take custody of all congressmen who are subject to arrest.
