Saddam tells lawyers he faces death without fear

A defiant Saddam Hussein shrugged off a possible death sentence, saying he would die without fear and the US occupiers of his country would leave humiliated like they did in Vietnam, his lawyers said on Saturday.

They said a jovial and highly spirited Saddam chatted with them for more than three hours about the violence in Iraq and mounting US losses just hours before an expected death sentence on Sunday in his trial for crimes against humanity.

i think saddam does have some backbone to face death, bastard that he is. Bush 41's comparison of Saddam to Hitler always struck me as goofy; I think the apt comparison is to Stalin, who ironically was saddam's own role model. Stalin was a bastard too, but apparently was personally intimidating and probably had a stiff backbone of his own.
