WASHINGTON (Reuters) - With two days left in a bitter fight for the U.S. Congress, Republicans and Democrats hammered each other over Iraq's future on Sunday as candidates launched a frantic late push for votes and polls showed some key races tightening.
In a campaign dominated by the unpopular war, Republicans accused Democrats of pushing a prescription for failure in Iraq. Democrats said voters favored a new approach and would reject President George W. Bush's Iraq policies on Tuesday.
New polls showed Republicans gaining ground in some key Senate races, but Democrats were positioned to make Senate gains and recapture control of the House of Representatives for the first time since 1994.

All 435 House seats, 33 Senate seats and 36 governorships are at stake. Democrats need to pick up 15 House seats and six Senate seats to claim majorities and take control of each chamber.
