WASHINGTON -- Indiana's federal lawmakers and their aides flew in corporate planes to industry-sponsored weekends at luxury resorts and attended dozens of seminars and "fact-finding" trips paid for by private groups in 2003, according to disclosure reports.
Jamaica in February and Jackson Hole, Wyo., in June were among the appealing destinations for which outside interests paid the bill. That bill was at least $156,000 combined for all Indiana lawmakers and their aides.
And the congressional travel season is in full wheels-up mode.
Many lawmakers take advantage of the congressional recess in December and January to travel.
