More bucks going Democrats' way

FedEx Corp., United Parcel Service Inc. and General Dynamics Corp. are among companies shifting campaign contributions to Democrats after years of favoring Republicans, federal records show.

FedEx's political action committee contributed 58 percent of its money to Democrats in the first half of the year as it lobbies against a bill making it easier for the company's truck drivers to unionize, according to the Federal Election Commission.

In the 2006 election, two-thirds of FedEx's PAC donations went to Republicans in their unsuccessful bid to keep congressional control.

1. It will help give the Democrats a solid majority. Will allow them to be able to step up to the plate on historical matters of party interest.

2. These huge corporations are merely cutting their losses for betting on the wrong horse in 2006. Are more interested in turning the Dem's into a form of "GOP Lite"

I hope the Democrats tell them to stuff to stuff it when they pass that bill. The companies won't stop giving, because their mentality is that if they've lost once, they might win the next one. As long as Dems are in power under the current system, they'll get the money advantage from companies like these.
