THERE has been an explosion near the venue of Afghanistan's loya jirga or grand assembly, which is currently finalising the country's constitution.
International peacekeepers said the blast occurred south of the site where delegates have been discussing the new constitution for the past three weeks.
There were no injuries and no damage, a spokesman said.
There was no immediate word on who might be behind the blast.
The country's deposed Taliban fundamentalist Islamic militia have previously threatened to disrupt the loya jirga.
