Home-state victories give both senators major victories, NBC News projects

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton took three big early Super Tuesday prizes in the Democratic presidential contest, winning the delegate-rich Northeastern states of Massachusetts, New Jersey and her home state of New York, NBC News projected.

Sen. Barack Obama countered with important victories in his home state, Illinois, and Georgia, NBC News projected.
