S.Korea Bird Flu Gene Differs from Vietnam-CDC

South Korea's bird flu virus differs genetically from the strain in Vietnam that has killed six people, South Korea said on Monday, quoting a test of U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"The U.S. CDC's preliminary test results showed that South Korea's bird flu gene types are different from Vietnam and accordingly causes of the cases are suspected to be different," said a statement from the state-run Korea Center for Disease Control & Prevention.
