Gallup Daily: Obama, McCain Tied at 45%

PRINCETON, NJ -- The latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking update on the presidential election finds John McCain and Barack Obama exactly tied at 45% among registered voters nationwide.

Voter preferences had been fairly evenly divided for the past week, with Obama generally holding a slight advantage of two or three percentage points. This is the first time since Gallup's May 31-June 4 rolling average that Obama does not have at least a slim advantage over McCain. Obama's largest lead to date has been seven points. Since the changes from Tuesday's results are well within the margin of sampling error, it is unclear at this point if today's results represent a further tightening of the race. The last two individual nights of polling have, however, been more favorable to McCain that what Gallup has shown for most of June.

For what it's worth.

Article mentions those polled were registered voters, not likely voters. Also, it doesn't mention the breakdown of how those polled identify themselves politically.

Lots of work to do before November, whether you believe in this poll or not!

1. Sorry, but I don't believe this poll for one minute.

In reality Obama is way ahead of McCain. I think we are being set up for another 'close election'...if ya know what I mean. Polls have got to be the number one tool for propaganda.
If they can get people believing they are the minority they can disempower them, or that there is an even balance between two opposing groups then they are easier to control. And just think of all the extra money these two campaigns will attract in a 'close race'. Propagandists know that it's all about perception rather than reality.

The MSM is not the only propaganda tool in the hands of corporations...

I don't know what We can do about this, but I'm not buying their lemonade.

The Poll was of "registered" voters instead of "likely" voters, which probably led to the disparity between this poll and the 15% polls. Anyway, thanks to our brilliant, and by brilliant I mean needlessly complicated, electoral system for presidential elections, the popular vote means absolutely squat.
