43% Growth for Solar Market in 2010

A new report from Pike Research says the global solar market will buck its two-year growth slump and increase 43% in 2010.

According to the report, the increase will be propelled by lower production costs and greater accessibility to financing. In total Pike expects this year's solar demand to be over 10 gigawatts.

1. My greatest concern w/solar is the push to manufacture overseas

instead of in the US. Some factories may begin over here but sooner or later they shut down and are moved to China or Viet Nam. Our government needs to take an active role in creating incentives for the manufacturing base of renewable energy components to remain HERE.

gonna put panels in previously undeveloped wild areas...it's all about making a buck for the loons in Congress, not about actual conservation.
