For President Bush's campaign brain trust, this was to be the week he single-handedly turned the debate from Iraq to jobs with a series of ``I feel your pain''-style events.

But the only campaign pain being felt is at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Last night's growing numbers of dead Marines resulting from an apparently potent Iraqi insurgency comes as Bush faces new questions on the home front on terrorism, with his national security adviser hitting live TV for testimony tomorrow.

It's no wonder Bush snapped at an Associated Press reporter who forgot to refer to him as ``Mr. President'' during questions the other day.

This is a REPUBLICAN problem! This isn't Bush's problem, alone. The Republicans have backed him to the hilt on everything he has wanted (some Democrats, too). They have defended him and his policies loudly and so must suffer whatever fate awaits Bush. Coat tails go both ways. These lying, cheating, stealing, murdering Republicans have got to go! One way or the other! Either vote them out or place them under arrest - let them choose.

is that this "Tet Offensive" was wholly provoked by clumsy handling of the Shiite cleric in the first place, not any planned embarassment of Generalissimo Bush. Has they not tried to round up his associates and close his newspaper we would not be throwing around absurd terms like "insurgents" and "rebels" without recognizing the nauseating symbolism that WE are the regime being rebelled against.

How many people have to die to prove an obvious point that cost Bush the popular vote in 2000?
