Teenager dies in Bahrain protest shooting

A teenager has died of gunshot wounds in Bahrain, as pro-democracy protests turn increasingly violent.
The interior ministry on Friday launched an investigation into the death of Ahmed Jaber, 16, who died the previous night from injuries caused by “birdshot,” tiny metal pellets fired by a shotgun, a weapon commonly used by riot police.
The ministry said around 20 youths threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at police on Thursday evening in the Abu Saiba district of Manama. Activists charge that the police opened fire on the youths at close range.
