Moscow - The elder son of the pro-Moscow leader of Chechnya Akhmad Kadyrov - who was killed in an attack earlier this month - has died of a heart attack, ITAR-TASS quoted Chechen sources as saying on Monday.
Zelimkhan, 30, died just weeks after the May 9 assassination of his father, a controversial Chechen figure on whom the Kremlin pinned its trust in a bid to finally win control of the separatist Muslim region.
Zelimkhan played only a small public role in Chechen politics, unlike his younger brother Ramszan, 27, who headed Kadyrov's feared police force and was named deputy head of Chechnya by the Kremlin after his father's death.
