WARSAW, Poland (AP) A Polish businessman held hostage by Iraqi insurgents arrived home Thursday, describing his rescue as a lighting-quick operation that ended a week of terror he feared he wouldn't survive.
''I am very moved to be back in Poland and to be alive,'' Jerzy Kos said at Warsaw airport after stepping off his plane, his face pale and voice trembling. ''I am so moved, I can hardly speak.''
The 64-year-old director of the Jedynka construction company, who was abducted June 1 from his Baghdad office, was held with three Italians who were kidnapped in April.

He said he was once beaten on the head with a gun, but otherwise suffered no further physical abuse.
