COLOGNE - Authorities in Germany have revealed that a suspect in a bombing that injured 22 persons in Cologne was photographed by a video surveillance camera shortly before the detonation.
The explosive device, a gas cylinder packed with gunpowder and carpenter nails, ripped through a hair salon and shattered windows in a wide radius when it went off on a crowded street shortly after 4pm on 9 June.
Authorities have ruled out an attack by Islamic radicals or neo- Nazis, and believe instead that business rivals or a protection-money extortion racket may have been to blame.
A nationwide manhunt has been underway for a man about 30 years old with short-cropped blond hair who eyewitnesses said parked a bicycle outside the shop that was ravaged by the explosive.
