Collins is a cosponsor of ENDA while Snowe isn't. Also, Snowe voted to ban funds to schools that had banned the Boys Scouts because they are anti-gay. However, Collins voted to keep funds for those schools.

Also, Collins is against the death penalty so it seems like she may be more liberal on social issues while Snowe is more skeptical of tax cuts as seen from her opposition to the 2003 tax cuts while Collins supported them.

He is a cosponsor of a bill to amend part of the Patriot Act and voted with many Democrats on another civil liberties amendment last year, and he was the only republican to do so. He also opposed the Energy bill partly because it was an attack on the Northeast, but also due to all the pork barrel spending. He also opposed the medicare reform bill because it cost too much. Both of those last votes, he voted with John McCain like he did on FMA. So, it seems like he is kind of libertarian in many of his views on wants states to decided things like marriage. And, New Hampshire is a pretty libertarian state and is kind of liberal on social issues so Sununu may want to be careful about what he does on issues like gay rights.

I was born and raised in Charleston (SC) and had to call Senator Hollings today to THANK HIM for his vote. The woman who answered was so very greatful to have a pleasant and happy person call. It made her day. I told her that my late grandparents knew the Senator well and said that they would be prod of his vote today. I also told her that I married the love of my life two weeks ago.
