Presidential race tied before convention

Funny, every part of this poll I read shows Kerry leading. So even if the poll says otherwise, it's OK for the right wing press to make up a headline.

Kerry is at 47% among likely voters, Bush at 46% and independent candidate Ralph Nader at 4%. Among the larger group of registered voters, Kerry is at 47%, Bush at 43% and Nader at 5%.

But Kerry has big advantages when it comes to domestic issues. By 8 percentage points, voters say he'd do a better job in handling the economy. By 17 percentage points, they say he'd do better on health care. Even on taxes, an issue on which Republicans usually hold an advantage, the two are essentially tied

2. "Likely Voters" Is BULLSHIT

They only started pushing this number when Bush started to tank...More people are motivated than ever before to vote and we're going to have humongous turnout. The likely voter number has always favored Bush and I suspect the bias is somehow built into the methodology. That "registered voters" number is a better indicator, IMO, and I'd be willing to bet the totals for "Adults" is the still better one.

if anyone is going to sit on the sidelines this November, it will be the Repukes.

All of their 401k's are heading south again, Osama is still running free, Iraq is still (and will remain so) a quagmire of death, and good jobs are still heading overseas.

13. "Likely voters" may be meaningless at this point.....According to a

discussion I heard a couple of months back on CSpan with pollsters ( I think it was a forum with several Dem pollsters).

Gallup has used LVs since the beginning,and the continue to do so just for the sake of continuity.
But, according to this pollster, all polls switch to Likely Voters in the fall, because then this sampling becomes more valid....
