New Delhi, July 24 (UNI) Kuwait has banned all recruiting companies and agencies in the country from sending Indians and other expatriates to work in Iraq or its neighbouring countries in the wake of the abduction of three Indian truckers by an Iraqi militant outfit a few days back.
Strongly condemning the abduction of Indians and other nationals, the Kuwaiti government promised all possible help and assistance in securing the release of the hostages.
The government said that such militant activities would only hamper the democratic process in Iraq.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour today directed the ''companies that recruit expatriates to work in Kuwait'', not to allow or send workers to Iraq. The Ministry's directive was circulated by the Kuwait Information Department here today.
