"When you have doubt creep into a democracy, then you have an undermining of that democracy," said Nelson, Florida's junior senator. "We just simply cannot go through that again." ...
.. That's when the state was accused of denying the vote to thousands who were wrongly labeled as felons, and when some voters in Tallahassee said they had to dodge police roadblocks to get to the polls.
"It's important that all of us be the eyes and the ears, that in this election this year none of those tactics are employed," Nelson told the crowd of about 200. ...
