SEATTLE -- There's nothing keeping them apart now.

A King County Superior Court judge on Friday agreed to lift a no-contact order between Mary K. Letourneau and her former sixth-grade pupil, Vili Fualaau, with whom she had two children.

The King County Prosecutor's Office did not object to Fualaau's motion that the order be lifted, said spokesman Dan Donohoe. Fualaau is now 21.

Letourneau was released Wednesday after completing a seven-year term for child rape. She's staying with friends at a home in the Boulevard Park neighborhood south of Seattle.

If Letourneau was a male teacher and the boy was a a school girl, Do you think that the courts would be so flippant as to eventually lift the ban on them seeing one another?

She ruined that boy's life. She is a sick little predator that is no different than any other male pedophile. It is really sad that just because she is a blonde soccer mom school teacher, she is treated as just following her heart. All pedophiles think that they are following their heart.

The salient fact is that the boy is over 18 and legally emancipated, and the judge had no choice. In fact, gross as it is, the judge would have to do the same thing in the opposite scenario as well. I'm no lawyer, but I suspect that you can't keep people from associating freely except by mutual agreement between the parties and the court, except in extremely rare instances.

I hate to point out the obvious here but yes, if it were a man and young girl, it might be handled differently. A male can more easily control a younger/smaller female through physical intimidation. What happened in this case was mental manipulation, which does not approach the same level of brutality in most people's minds.

All that said: Agreed...she is "a sick little predator" who deserves only shame.

Anyway, I don't really care about this soap opera but it
turns out I cannot create a thread unless I respond to
some first so chalk this up as #1 and sorry for bastardizing

This means I am new here. I discovered this site when
I was reading blackboxvoting.org.

I am not a republican troll. I probably am not really
a democrat either. I am an alien resident of the US and
in about 1 year I will be able to become a citizen which
means I miss this opportunity to vote for somebody other
than Dubya. So sad. Unless of course they manage to postpone
the election.

She ruined his life and messed him up mentally. At least if he was just raped through intimidation, he could have moved on and lived somewhat of a normal life.
