Some Republicans Dropping Allegiance To Bush, Voting For Kerry

MEDFORD, Oregon, Aug 15 (AFP) - They are unhappy with the state of the US economy and they disagree with President George W. Bush's handling to the war on terror.

They might sound like members of White House contender John Kerry's Democratic Party, but these Bush detractors are actually Republicans unhappy with the president who have been spotted at several pro-Kerry rallies.

As Kerry traveled through the US heartland to court undecided voters in the last two weeks, several Republicans disappointed with the Bush administration attended the Democrat's campaign events.

In Las Vegas, Nevada, Marcia Forkos earned an embrace from Kerry after voicing her support for his candidacy.

the dateline is Medford, Oregon. It must be that after the tremendous welcome we gave John Kerry on Thursday we are now recognized internationally as Kerry-Edwards country.

Kerry got a wonderful reception in conservative Southern Oregon. I noticed many in the back of the crowd were listening quietly... those are exactly the folks Kerry was hoping to reach, and his speech was perfect with the stuff like asking if it was conservative to have deficits. Made me feel hopeful.

Kinda like the Reagan Democrats... but for our side! glad to see that there are people willing to think for themselves. Even though the Democrats for Reagan went against what I believe in, I still admire people who think outside party lines.

not to mention support among many foreign governments. The question is how to get the word out in the U.S. media.
