HAMBURG - Josef Graessle-Muenscher, the chief defence counsel for terror suspect Mounir el-Motassadeq, has been hospitalised after being injured in a motorcycle accident at the weekend, his office confirmed Monday.
The office confirmed that the 58-year-old terrorism legal expert was in hospital but declined to go into further details after the story was first broken by the local daily Hamburger Morgenpost.
According to the Morgenpost story, Graessle-Muenscher was gravely injured in the accident and doctors were fighting for his life at the Hamburg university hospital.
The report said he was rushed by rescue helicopter to the clinic after suffering serious injuries in a collision with a passenger car on a country road north of Hamburg on Saturday afternoon. It said that after the collision, Graessle-Muenscher then smashed into a road traffic sign.
