“It is the power of grassroots, it is the power of identifying and getting out the vote. You don’t need to worry about the deadline most other people have to, the 31 days to register, but you do have to worry about the 61 days you’ve got left between now and the election, and mobilizing every volunteer, making it a personal crusade and actively support this good man for another four years.
“I just want to tell you we’re coming hard, we need your help, we need you to make it a personal crusade. We appreciate what you’re doing by coming to the convention, but most of all we appreciate what you will be doing over the next 61 days. Work every muscle, work every brain cell, strain every nerve. Everything matters, this is a vital election for us and an important election for Wisconsin.”
Reporters tried to interview Rove after the speech but were able to only get a couple questions off before he was hustled to the elevator by handlers.
When asked what the president will speak about tonight, Rove said “It’s an to speak about the future, and it’s an opportunity to talk about Iraq and an opportunity to sort of let people know who he is or remind them who he is.”
