Former President George H. W. Bush said Thursday Democratic Presidential challenger John Kerry should apologize for remarks he made when he returned from Vietnam claiming U.S. military personnel committed atrocities.

"I think its not enough to say 'Well, I made a youthful indiscretion,' and I think Sen. Kerry ought to apologize," Bush told Fox News, weighing in on controversial ads sponsored by an independent group called Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. The ads question Kerry's military service in Vietnam and are critical of comments he made when he returned to the U.S. and became an anti-war activist.

"These are not wackos out there criticizing him," Bush said. "There's a hundred and some of these people. Now are we to sit here and say they're all liars? I don't think so." ..
