Media Matters for America Releases Exposes Conservative Radio Hosts' Harsh Commentary on Clinton's Bypass Surgery

WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Media Matters for America (MMFA) has found that in the wake of the announcement that former President Bill Clinton's was to undergo heart surgery, a number of conservative radio hosts mocked were out in full-force making light of Clinton's serious condition, suggested that he would go to hell, and speculated that Clinton's surgery was a ruse to avoid campaigning for John Kerry.

On September 3 -- the very day Clinton's condition was announced -- Michael Savage wasted no time in mocking Clinton during his Savage Nation broadcast: "I understand that Bill Clinton will be getting bypass surgery. He will be with us a while longer because we understand that Hell was full -- and he will be granted a full recovery. We do know that he is getting bypass surgery, but we cannot confirm it is of the heart. It may be of another organ. You wanna tell jokes today we can tell jokes today."

Leading the pack was Rush Limbaugh - who President Bush recently called a "good friend" during an appearance on Limbaugh's show -- said during from the September 7th edition of the Rush Limbaugh Show, with the following striking commentary:

"From the "I understand it was gonna be a triple bypass, but then Clinton figured out his sympathy rating would go up to 87 percent with a quadruple. So ((laughter)) - bada-bump-buh. ((laughter))" ..

Prayers for Clinton's recovery. There were a few mild jokes, but nothing really vicious. I'm a day surfer, so maybe there was more ugliness later, but what I saw was decent. And, some freepers were giving others a hard time if they thought they were being insensitive.

Who would expect Oxyrush to be anything but an insensitive idiot? I guess he's always looking for a new low to beat out his previous comments about Chelsea Clinton, when she was a vulnerable pre-teen.
