The HillTeresa Heinz Kerry will be the featured speaker Monday when the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute opens its annual issues conference.
More than 800 Hispanic public officials, scholars, business executives and community organizers are expected to attend the conference; Heinz Kerry, the wife of presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), will talk during the opening lunch at the Washington Convention Center. ..
The institute bills itself as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and includes both Democrats and Republicans on its board of directors. But all current members of the Hispanic caucus, according to its website, are Democrats.
