WASHINGTON Sept. 18, 2004 — Vice President Dick Cheney's aircraft made an unscheduled landing Friday evening at an average American airport in Ohio, to avoid stormy weather on the East Coast.
Cheney was reported to be "dismayed" at having to make an unscheduled visit to the actual United States, without a picked audience of loyal Republicans to receive him.
The Vice President was stunned to discover that by cutting federal funds to state governments, average Ohioans have seen their total tax burden ranking rise from #31 in 2000 under President Clinton to #17 in 2004. "We cut federal taxes for average Ohioans," said the Vice President, without the usual swell of cheering found at Ohio Republican campaign events.
"Per-capita incomes have risen nearly $800 since our President took office," said the Vice President.
One Ohioan quipped back, "you f--ked us without a kiss, lying sack of s--t."
The Ohioan went on to explain that the percieved gain in income was actually an enormous windfall experienced by the wealthiest five percent of Ohioans, while average Ohioans have in fact experienced a significant drop in quality of life.
Cheney was also unhappy to discover that average Ohioans know the truth about job losses in the state of Ohio. "We created 3,400 jobs in Ohio in July."
"That's nice, you a--hole," said another resident. "We lost 66,900 jobs in the state just last year. You're 63,500 jobs short."
As the Vice President cleared his throat and adjusted his collar, one Ohio resident pointed out a drinking fountain behind him. The Vice President demurred. "I'm not from around here," he laughed nervously, "I don't think I should drink the water."
As the Vice President prepared to leave the airport for Washington, DC, he was overheard saying to a staffer, "get me the f--k out of here--these aren't real Americans."
Ohioans would beg to differ.
