US attacked over UN resolution

International human rights groups have accused the US Government of attempting to block a United Nations resolution that would seek to enhance the protection of humanitarian workers in conflict zones.

INVESTIGATING WAR CRIMES

US officials are objecting to a section of the resolution which refers to attacks on humanitarian workers as a war crime under the statutes of the newly-established International Criminal Court (ICC).

Washington does not recognise the court.

It also insists on either removing reference to it from UN resolutions or having paragraphs inserted that give immunity to nations like America that have not ratified the Rome Statute establishing the ICC.

Human rights groups are angry that less than a week after the attack on the UN headquarters in Baghdad, the US is objecting to the draft UN resolution.

about the atrocities happening there. They don't want the UN to
have even a toe in Iraq--for fear of having to share the Oil Revenue.

4. Well...

Here are several questions that need to be asked.

1. How did the FBI come up so quickly with the conclusion that
Iraqi military ordinance was used.
2. Who has access to captured Iraqi ordinance
3. Besides the Iraqi security guards working at the UN HQ
who else could have known where the UN Reprensatives
office was located.

Now do we really need to ask why America would need immunity from
prosecution for attacking humanitarian workers.

The US is not above killing innocent civilians to push its' agenda
if anyone has any doubts, then I would suggest that you look up
the atrocities that we assisted in South and Central America.
