I tend to think this is some form of PR exercise.

The disconnect between the various stories about this
incident does not bode well for victory in court, unless
the DOJ for some reason decides to roll over and play
dead. The timing on the three year anniversary is cute.

Last I had heard "harsh interrogation methods, physical abuse,
sleep deprivation and racist insults" were all SOP, absolutely
allowed by the Constitution and the Geneva Conventions, as long
as US cops, DoD employees, or agents of any governments on our
approved list were doing it.

13. Saw some of them interviewed on a documentary last week

It was on Channel 4 in the UK, called "The 9/11 conspiracies". The programme was bollocks mostly, simplistic mockery of "conspiracy types", but it did interview three of those arrested, the woman who saw them celebrating and called the police, and one of the arresting officers (who confirmed they found a large stash of cash and multiple passports). Anyway, one of those arrested admitted he had been in some special forces unit, brushing it off as coincidence, but they had an ex-Mossad guy on camera who unequivocally said Urban Moving was a Mossad front, and they cited (admittedly anonymous) Israeli sources confirming the same.

22. What Has Always Interested Me About This Case, Mr. Scurrilous

Is that the person who reported the men, and the police who arrested them, were under the impression they were Arabs; they are of Sephardic descent, and so the appearance they present is typically Middle Eastern. What they were doing was video-taping the conflagration from atop a van caught in a traffic jam, and it was only the belief they were Arab that lead the woman to interpert their movements as dancing with glee: they were certainly excited by the spectacle, and doubtless gesticulating.

The idea that secret agents would have behaved in such a manner is rather ludicrous. Operatives assigned to film would have done so in an unobtrusive manner, and gone quite unnoticed by other spectators. Nor do professional intelligence operations make much use of persons who lack proper visas and other identifications capable of withstanding an initial examination by a policeman. The papers may be obtained by fraud, or forged, but will be adequate for the purpose; that is much of what the clandestine arms of intelligence agencies concern themselves with.

Maria, who asked us not to use her last name, had a view of the World Trade Center from her New Jersey apartment building. She remembers a neighbor calling her shortly after the first plane hit the towers.

She grabbed her binoculars and watched the destruction unfolding in lower Manhattan. But as she watched the disaster, something else caught her eye.

Maria says she saw three young men kneeling on the roof of a white van in the parking lot of her apartment building. "They seemed to be taking a movie," Maria said.

The men were taking video or photos of themselves with the World Trade Center burning in the background, she said. What struck Maria were the expressions on the men's faces. "They were like happy, you know … They didn't look shocked to me. I thought it was very strange," she said.

The woman who called the police doesn't say they were dancing around making a scene. Granted, she wrongly identified them as Arabs, and they certainly didn't look like Arabs to me in the interviews I mentioned in post #13, but I guess a lot of people jumped to wrong conclusions in the heat of that moment. Doesn't change the fact that they were carrying multiple passports, and one of them has confirmed he previously worked for Israeli intelligence abroad (removal man is quite a step down from that), and that people like Vince Cannistaro are willing to publicly speculate that Urban Moving (which disappeared into the night) was an Israeli intelligence operation.

It may also have been a simple criminal organization. My mind is open on the question, and there is certainly espionage activity by Israel directed at the United States. It would be as furuile to deny that as it would be foolish for Israel not to conduct it.

The problem comes when persons attempt to erect on that slender rede an allegation of Israeli involvement with, complicity in, or some similar directing or influential relation to, the attacks by Bin Laden's followers against the United States. There is, of course, little to be gained by arguing with such persons; as their beliefs are not based on a rational foundation, rational means cannot dissuade them....
