Body of missing Sara Lee executive found frozen

SEVIERVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- A retired Sara Lee executive missing since he met with a couple about buying his sport utility vehicle was found dead Thursday, frozen in a rented storage unit. The couple was arrested in what federal authorities believe was a bungled carjacking.

James Dale Cockman, 71, of Greenville, South Carolina, had been missing since September 14, the day he was to meet David Wendell Edens and Jennifer Annette Holloway.

Authorities believe Cockman may have suffocated from duct tape that Edens, 34, and Holloway, 27, used to cover his mouth. An autopsy will be performed.

"The interpretation I have right now is that his death was an accident," R. Joe Clark, special agent in charge of the FBI office in Knoxville, told a news conference Thursday.

Edens and Holloway were taken into custody at their rural Smoky Mountains home and charged with carjacking. They appeared in federal court Thursday in Knoxville and were being held by U.S. marshals.

Sara Lee owns BallPark franks...a few years back when they found their franks were OVER the limit for bacteria that leads to lysteria..rather than pull the product, they stopped the tests for that batch killing 21 people...Asscrack backed off prosecuting them and let them get away with a 200,000 dollar fine....this is KARMA

The ordinary shopper is as predictable as a rat following a trail of cheese right into a trap.

The most expensive and frivolous items are usually placed at eye level. Baking staples such as flour and sugar are commonly on low shelves or so high up you have to reach for them. Eye-catching displays with lights, bells and whistles usually promote junk food and expensive items, even though they are piled up to appear to be on sale.

The center aisles usually house the prepared, brightly packaged, over-processed food items. Either a hot deli or bakery in the store will be emitting heavenly smells to appeal to your senses and start those compulsive-buying juices flowing. The perimeter of the store is the safe zone where you'll find produce, dairy and meat.

Have you ever wondered why the milk is always positioned at the farthest area to the back of the store? That's because the harried mother or father needing to pick up only milk is compelled to walk past all of the impulse items.

18. Enough of the sick jokes - Jim Cockman was a good person

Jim Cockman, regardless of his political contributions, gave a lot to our community. He served ably on the boards of many of our schools and colleges and hospitals. He was a foster parent and improved the lives of hundreds of forgotten and abused children over the years. He had a great sense of humor and could be counted on to lighten the atmosphere of any community meeting.

Jim Cockman will be missed by all of us.

Shame on you who are making jokes about him.

It's OK to remind us that the gentleman that suffocated was "a real person" loved by those close to him.

HOWEVER, much in the vein of the "Darwin Awards" some circumstances can be viewed as darkly humorous to those who are distanced from the deceased.

I'd go nuts if it wasn't for dark humor. Some of us can be "weird that way" and still harbor respect for the real life victim.

Gosh, I'd be willing to envision Saint Peter sharing that joke with the man after his entry into heaven. "Silly ... inane ... humans. <giggles>"
