The Department of Defense announced today the death three Marines who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.



Lance Cpl. Aaron C. Pickering, 20, of Marion, Ill., died Nov. 10 as a result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Hawaii.



Staff Sgt. Gene Ramirez, 28, of San Antonio, Texas, died Nov. 10 as a result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.



Lance Cpl. Justin D. Reppuhn, 20, of Hemlock, Mich., died Nov. 11 as a result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Seriously, NOBODY is bringing up the fact that the Fallujah attack started after the election. And it happened during Ramadan, so they can't say that they were waiting for that to end.

20 year old Marines are not babies. They volunteered. And our forces are killing a lot of *real* babies. So yes, Bush is a baby killer, but not because our soldiers are dying.

I respect the honorable intentions of most American soldiers, certainly the majority and most I have known. In most cases I think they are doing what they feel is the right thing and their duty, though I think they are being misled and used by venal and evil political leaders. I certainly mourn the loss of these American soldiers, as I mourn all needless and stupid loss of life in this damn war. But I refuse to see American soldiers' lives as more valuable than the lives of the thousands of innocent civilians who are suffering the greatest loss in this war. If that position means I'm an upatriotic blue-state liberal out of touch with the majority and condemned to support a losing political cause for eternity, so be it. These values don't run.

6. Point taken and I did probably over react

however, I have a 20 year old cousin who will be going over to Iraq and he still has his entire life ahead of him. My aunt is beside herself with fear and worry and he still seems like a baby to me.

When I see young kids like this dying for Bush's immoral war, a rage washes over me that sometimes I am unable to control.

Someone I care about is in harm's way too. And sometimes those young soldiers do seem like kids -- until they actually see war. What we are doing to our own society by exposing so many of our young people to this senseless brutality is a whole 'nother story.
