IRAN -- BUSH ADMINISTRATION REVISES ESTIMATE OF IRAN'S NUCLEAR THREAT: In sharp contrast to what the White House has been saying about Iran, a new National Intelligence Estimate, which represents the consensus among U.S. agencies, has found that Iran is ten years away from producing a nuclear weapon. It also casts doubt on the credibility of U.S. intelligence itself: since 1995, intelligence officials have been claiming that Iran is within five years of building a nuclear weapon.

That is, prior to the 06 elections.

I look for a ramp up in rhetoric next summer, some kind of vote in Sept. 06, with some action taken in 07. Continuation of this Patriotic^TM action will carry over into the 08 elections.

Depending on the seriousness of the crises, the election could be suspended. We can't have dissension during wartime, you know.
