An interesting article from Australian journalist Paul McGeogh in
Baghdad.
McGeogh is not, and never has been, an "embedded" journalist, so he's
writing this from his own perspective on the ground. He's honest,
and was the first Australian journalist to dare to risk the wrath
of John Howard by telling Australians what was really happening in
the early days when we were being told from all sides what a piece
of cake the Iraq invasion was.

online news sites, but this is written for mainstream Australia,
and it may come as a surprise to many who are praising the rise
of democracy in Iraq and the decline of Al Qa'eda.
