I wrote about the Republican Brand nearly a month ago. In that column, on the occasion of the third special election loss for the Republicans, in a Republican dominated district, no less, I wrote about how the Bush Administration and the Republicans who have conspired with Bush, have ruined the good name of a party that could once be respected, even if they were wrong on many issues. Of course, that respect was long ago. It wasn’t just the Bush era that destroyed the Republican brand, but also many other factors, such as their joining with the Religious Wrong to attempt to create a nanny state in the true sense, one that limits personal freedom as if all citizens were children.
Oh, but I don’t want to go into all that again. I’m here today to remind about the severely damaged Republican brand, and to note that at least one Republican politician has decided to avoid being called a Republican altogether.
