Michele Bachmann’s secretive RNC congressional reception may be a cruise on the St. Croix

A secret reception for Congressional members being hosted by Congresswoman Michele Bachmann during the RNC may be on a cruise on the St. Croix River September 2.

The location of the secret reception was previously described by her campaign manager as an “undisclosed location in her district.” However, a source has confirmed that Bachmann has a cruise scheduled on Afton Cruise Lines in Afton next Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Bachmann has yet to hold an open public meeting for constituents in her district since being elected in 2006. But this is at least the fourth private campaign-related event that she is featured at next week alone. In addition to her RNC boat ride next Tuesday, fund-raisers for Bachmann are scheduled for September 1 with Mitt Romney and September 3 with Newt Gingrich—both at the University Club on St. Paul’s Summit Avenue. And she is a featured guest at a Phyllis Schlafly-sponsored reception honoring scandal-plagued Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, also on September 2.
