| Did McCain Admit He Blew It With His VP Pick? |
|
Yesterday, John McCain did something unheard of at this late stage of a presidential campaign: acknowledged that a different running mate would have made a big difference in the battleground state of Florida. http://allspinzone.com/wp/2008/10/18/did-john-mccain-admit-that-he-blew-it/

McCain didn't choose Palin to win Florida but to add excitement and nail down his base. I think it was a horrible choice but she wasn't chosen to win FL.

| 2. He's as much as admitting that Palin was a poor choice and that's NEWS which needs to be heard... |
|
ALL OVER the nation, front page.
This FLIP FLOP is the ultimate. We need to focus on it in a thousand places that will eat the hearts of his base and further enthuse ours.

| 4. I find it fascinating, |
|
how often the base needs to be nailed down. Their campaign and MSM constantly explain away decisions and peculiar tactics as nailing down their base. Choice of VP, attacking the press, market based economic relief plans, market based pro-insurance health care plan, extreme negative ads, aggressive campaign behavior, non-populist tax policies a la Bush, etc., so I ask, at what point is the base nailed down? If all of these tactics and many more are antithetical to Independents what in blazes are they thinking? (Yes I realize this assumes facts not in evidence :) )

the strategy is failing miserably. That makes McCain more like Bush than anything else.

| 7. Stunning admission ... |
|
this should really derail whatever campaign he has left. To admit finally that they made a "tough choice" with Sarah Palin. They're going to spin it, of course. The quote is out of context - they'll say. Because he was talking about Florida or some such nonsense. But, hey, she's running with you to be vice-president of the USA, not Florida. So, you made tough choice for the VP candidate of the USA.
