| McCain Workers Walking Off the Job Over Moral Issues |
|
The Republicans can’t use Robocall telemarketing in some states, and must use live workers. The problem is the live workers are staying home instead of reading immoral and unethical scripts. A campaign reform McCain will never tackle is to get rid of Robocalls, thus letting American workers serve as a moral check on GOP campaigns. http://allspinzone.com/wp/2008/10/28/mccain-workers-walking-off-the-job-over-moral-issues/

to people who make moral decisions about the workplace, at least when it regards this level of lying the woman was going to be required to do.

All they have to do is find a telemarketing firm whose employees, despite making telemarketer salaries, really feel the millionaires and billionaires deserve their money more than they do, and who will be happy to vote for McCain to make it all possible.

Telemarketing is a poorly paid job. Still, it is heartening to see that workers forced into that line of work are moral.
I did the work when I was a graduate student. It is demoralizing work in the lower reaches of telemarketing.

Good American workers have good values, and maybe they should be in control of the campaign messages of Republicans.

| 22. I read someone where a lot of McCain's "Paid" Volunteers are only doing it for the money |
|
But they are voting for Obama. If McLame had any integrity he would have been able to get real volunteers who supported for free

| 15. Just to clarify, they're not "McCain workers" per se |
|
They're employees of a company that has a contract with the McCain campaign to do this. They could just as likely be asking questions about your radio station preference.

| 17. And I love them for it |
|
Their bravery is even more worthy of praise when you consider that call centers tend to be located in places where there are few other job options, particularly for people without college degrees. Often call centers are the major employer for the area, providing jobs when the factories and mines closed. These workers probably don't have health insurance, and that job may be the only thing keeping their family in their home. And a lot of call centers are located in "red" areas, so they are probably surrounded by McCain supporters. Given those factors, I wish I could give them all a hug for their actions. I'm not sure I could have been able to do the right thing in such a circumstance.
(Two members of my immediate family work in call centers, as have a number of good friends.
