Excerpt:President Obama was very busy this week.
Monday President Obama met with his first cabinet meeting where he urged members to slash wasteful spending. Later, he visited Langley, Virginia to speak to CIA agents. He also met with Tiger Woods.
Tuesday, Obama participated in a national service project at Kenilworth Aquatic Garden in Washington and signed the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act at the SEED School of Washington after meeting with former President Bill Clinton and Senator Edward Kennedy to discuss national service. President Obama also held a meeting with King Abdullah of Jordan in the Oval Office of the White House. In the same day, President Obama greeted the U.S. Naval Academy football team.
Wednesday, President Obama flew to Iowa for Earth Day and toured the Trinity Structural Towers in Neston, Iowa. There he spoke with employees and toured the plant. He met with Iowa's governor and fans in Des Moines.
On Thursday, President Obama welcomed the NCAA Football Champion Gators to the White House where they were honored as national champs. Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner also held a meeting with representatives of the credit card industry. The President then spoke at the Holocaust Remembrance ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda.
On Friday, President Obama met with Special Envoy for Sudan, Scott Gration and was updated on ongoing problems in the region. He also met with college students and spoke of cutting out the middle man for student loans.
